From Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (main train station), the Marktplatz is approximately a 10-minute walk. Exit the station and head straight along Grimmaische Straße. You'll pass several shops and restaurants. Continue until you reach the Marktplatz on your left. Alternatively, from Augustusplatz, walk west along Grimmaische Straße, passing the Opera House on your right. The Marktplatz will be on your left after approximately 5 minutes. No costs involved.

Several tram lines stop directly at or near the Marktplatz. Take tram lines 4, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, or 16 to the 'Markt' stop. From the tram stop, the Marktplatz is just a few steps away. Alternatively, take the S-Bahn (suburban train) lines S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, or S5X to the 'Leipzig Markt' station, which is located underground beneath the Marktplatz.
