Alternatively, S-Bahn lines S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S5X, and S11 also stop at 'Leipzig Markt' station, a short walk away. A short trip ticket (Kurzstrecke) valid for four stops costs approximately €2.30.

From Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (main train station), the Altes Rathaus is approximately a 10-15 minute walk. Exit the station towards the city center and follow the Grimmaische Straße straight ahead. You'll pass Augustusplatz and the Oper Leipzig on your right. Continue straight, and you'll arrive at the Markt, where the Altes Rathaus is prominently located on the east side of the square. The walk is straightforward and well-signposted.

Parking fees at Marktgalerie are approximately €2.50 per hour, with a maximum daily rate of €20. Q-Park Augustusplatz offers parking from Monday to Sunday between 8am and 8pm for a maximum of €10. Please note that Leipzig's city center is an environmental zone, and only cars with a green environmental badge are allowed to enter.
