    From Lüneburg Heath, take the A39 highway towards Hamburg. After approximately 40 kilometers, merge onto the A1 towards Lübeck. Continue on the A1 for about 25 kilometers, then take the exit for A252 toward Hamburg. Follow signs for A7 and merge onto it. Continue on A7 until you reach the exit for B4 towards Hamburg-Centrum. Follow B4, which will lead you to the St. Pauli-Landungsbrücken area where the Alter Elbtunnel is located. Parking is available in the vicinity, but be prepared to pay for parking.

    From any location in Lüneburg Heath, take a regional train (RE or S-Bahn) to Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (central station). Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 1 hour.
