Getting there

Train

From Munich central station (Hauptbahnhof), take the S2 train towards Erding or the S8 train towards Leuchtenbergring. Get off at Dachau station, which is about a 20-minute ride. Once you arrive at Dachau station, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal located right outside. Board the bus number 726 heading towards 'Dachau Schloss'. The bus ride will take approximately 10 minutes. You will get off at the stop 'Dachau Schloss', which is a short walk to Dachau Palace located at Kurfürst-Max-Emanuel-Platz 2.

Bus

If you are near central Munich, you can take the bus number 726 from the bus stop at Sendlinger Tor, which is accessible via the U2 or U7 subway lines. The bus will take you directly to Dachau Schloss. The journey takes around 40 minutes. Once you arrive, the Dachau Palace is located at Kurfürst-Max-Emanuel-Platz 2, just a short walk from the bus stop.

Bicycle

For a more adventurous route, consider renting a bicycle. From Munich, you can follow the Isar River bike path north towards Dachau. The ride is approximately 15 kilometers and takes about an hour. Once you arrive in Dachau, navigate to Kurfürst-Max-Emanuel-Platz where Dachau Palace is located. The route is mostly flat and scenic, making it a pleasant ride.
