To reach the English Garden using the U-Bahn, first find the nearest U-Bahn station to your current location. If you are in the city center, you can board the U6 line at any of the central stations like Sendlinger Tor or Marienplatz. Travel towards the 'Garching-Forschungszentrum' direction and get off at the 'München Universität' station. From there, take the exit towards 'Englischer Garten'. The entrance to the park is just a short walk from the station.
Tram
If you prefer taking the tram, locate the nearest tram stop to your current position. Board tram line 19 if you are around the city center, and travel towards 'Pasing'. Get off at 'Lehel' tram stop. From there, walk towards the north along the Widenmayerstraße until you reach the entrance of the English Garden.
Bus
For those who are closer to a bus stop, you can take bus line 54. Board the bus towards 'Klinikum Großhadern' and get off at the 'Bahnpark' bus stop. After exiting, walk east towards the park entrance, which is easily accessible from that area.
Walking
If you are in the vicinity of central Munich, walking to the English Garden can be a delightful experience. Simply head towards the north from Marienplatz, following the signs for the Englischer Garten. It is approximately a 20-30 minute walk depending on your pace, but you will enjoy the scenic views of the city along the way.
Bike Rental
For a more active option, consider renting a bike. Munich has various bike rental stations. Once you have a bike, you can cycle directly to the English Garden. Follow the bike lanes heading north from the city center, and you will soon reach the park. It's a lovely way to enjoy the fresh air and see more of the city.
