If you're starting from Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof (the main train station), exit the station and head to the tram stop located right outside. Take tram line 9 (towards 'Gibitzenhof') or line 1 (towards 'Langwasser Süd') and get off at the 'Opernhaus' stop. After exiting the tram, walk towards the south on Richard-Wagner-Straße for about 5 minutes until you reach the Kartäusergasse. Turn left onto Kartäusergasse, and the Germanisches Nationalmuseum will be on your right within a few minutes.

If you are near the Nuremberg Castle (Kaiserburg), the museum is about a 15-minute walk away. Head southeast on Burgstraße, then turn left onto Bärengasse. Continue until you reach the road that leads to the museum area. Turn right onto Kartäusergasse, and you will see the Germanisches Nationalmuseum on your left.
