Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by navigating to the town of Annaberg-Buchholz, which is a central point in the Ore Mountains. From Annaberg-Buchholz, take the B101 road towards the town of Oberschlema. Continue on B101 for about 13 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the L152. Turn left onto L152 and follow the signs towards Martinlamitzer Forst-Nord. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will see signs indicating the direction to Großer Kornberg. Follow these signs to the parking area near the base of the mountain. The total driving time from Annaberg-Buchholz is about 30 minutes.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, you can take a train from nearby cities like Chemnitz or Dresden to Annaberg-Buchholz. Upon arrival at Annaberg-Buchholz, you will need to transfer to a local bus that services the area. Look for Bus Line 313, which goes towards Martinlamitzer Forst-Nord. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. You will need to get off at the 'Martinlamitzer Forst-Nord' stop. From there, follow the walking signs to Großer Kornberg, which is about a 20-minute walk uphill from the bus stop.   If you're already in the vicinity of Martinlamitzer Forst-Nord and prefer to walk, you can start your hike from the local bus stop. The walking trail to Großer Kornberg is well-marked and takes about 20 minutes. Follow the signs that indicate the direction to the mountain, and be prepared for a moderately steep ascent. Wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring water, especially if you plan to explore the area around the peak.
