By Car
If you are traveling by car, make your way to the A48 motorway. Exit at the 'Mendig' exit and follow the B262 towards Wierschem. There will be signs directing you to Eltz Castle (Burg Eltz). It is about a 15-minute drive from the motorway to the castle parking area. Note that there is a parking fee of approximately €2.00 to €5.00 depending on the duration of your stay. Upon arrival at the parking area, you will need to walk approximately 1.2 kilometers (about 15-20 minutes) to reach the castle itself, following well-marked paths through the scenic forest.
By Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a train from any major city in the Palatinate region to the nearest train station, which is 'Moselkern'. From Moselkern, you can catch a local bus (Bus Line 335) to the 'Burg Eltz' stop. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes and runs several times a day. The bus fare is approximately €2.00. Once you get off at the Burg Eltz stop, it is a short 15-minute walk through the forest to the castle. Please check the local bus schedules for exact timings, as they can vary.
