Car
If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the A61 motorway. From there, take the exit toward Bingerbrück/Bingen and continue on Binger Straße/B9. Follow this road along the Rhine River until you reach the signs for Niederheimbach. Turn onto Burgstraße, which leads directly to Sooneck Castle. There is parking available near the castle, but be aware that parking may incur a fee.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a train to Bingen am Rhein station. From there, you can take the bus line 661 towards Niederheimbach. Get off at the 'Niederheimbach, Rathaus' stop. From the bus stop, it is a 15-minute walk uphill to Sooneck Castle. The trail is well-marked, but wear comfortable shoes as it can be steep. Keep in mind that bus tickets cost around €2.70 and can be purchased at the station.
Walking
If you are already in Niederheimbach or nearby, you can walk to Sooneck Castle. The castle is located approximately 1.5 kilometers from the village center. Follow Burgstraße, which will lead you directly to the castle. Enjoy the scenic views of the Rhine Valley along the way. The walk should take about 20-30 minutes, and is a lovely way to experience the local landscape.
