Public Transport - Bus
From Potsdam Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take the bus line 606 towards 'S Potsdam Griebnitzsee'. Ride the bus for about 10 minutes, and get off at 'S Potsdam, Glienicker Brücke' (Glienicker Bridge). From there, walk across the bridge into Berlin, which will lead you towards Platz d. Republik. The total travel time should be around 30-40 minutes.
Public Transport - Train
From Potsdam Hauptbahnhof, board the S7 S-Bahn train towards 'S Spandau' or the RE1 regional train towards 'Cottbus' (both trains typically depart from the same platform). After about 20 minutes, disembark at 'Berlin Hauptbahnhof' (main station). From there, it's about a 10-minute walk to Platz d. Republik. Head west on 'Europaplatz', continue onto 'Platz d. Republik' which should be straight ahead.
Walking
If you prefer a scenic walk from central Potsdam, start at the Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor). Head northeast on 'Jägerstraße' until you reach the 'Havel' river. Follow the riverbank path towards the Glienicker Bridge. Cross the bridge into Berlin, and continue walking straight until you reach Platz d. Republik. This walk will take approximately 1.5 hours and is about 6 km.
