Car
From the center of Prignitz, head southwest on B189 towards Gumtow. Continue on B189 for approximately 15 km until you reach a roundabout. Take the second exit onto B107 towards Gumtow. After about 5 km, take a right onto Schulstraße. Continue on Schulstraße for about 2 km, and you will find Schloss Demerthin at Schulstraße 12 in Gumtow. There is free parking available near the castle.
Public Transportation
If you're traveling by public transport, start by taking a train from any major station in Prignitz to the nearest station, which is Gumtow. Trains might not run frequently, so check the local schedule. Once you arrive at Gumtow station, you can take a local bus (Line 580) towards Demerthin. Get off at the 'Demerthin' stop, which is a short walk from Schloss Demerthin. Alternatively, you can walk from the station, which is about a 30-minute walk. Follow Schulstraße in the direction of the castle.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Prignitz and follow a scenic route via B189 towards Gumtow. This route is approximately 20 km long and takes you through beautiful countryside. Upon reaching Gumtow, turn onto Schulstraße, and you will find Schloss Demerthin. Ensure you have a bicycle lock as there are places to secure your bike near the castle.
