Walking
If you are starting from Rostock's main train station (Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and head east on Friedrichstraße. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Kröpeliner Straße. Turn left onto Kröpeliner Straße and walk for approximately 500 meters. You will arrive at the historic town square (Alter Markt), where you can take a moment to explore. From here, head towards the waterfront; follow the signs to the harbor. Once you reach the waterfront area, turn right and walk along the promenade until you see the historic harbor crane (historischer Hafenkran) on your left. It is located near the water and should be easily visible.
Public Transport
From the Rostock main train station, take tram line 1 or 2 towards 'Rostock Stadtmitte' or 'Rostock Warnemünde'. Get off at the stop 'Neuer Markt'. From the tram stop, head south towards the historic town square (Alter Markt). After exploring the square, make your way towards the waterfront by following the signs. Walk along the promenade, and you will see the historic harbor crane (historischer Hafenkran) on your left as you approach the water.
Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start from the central area of Rostock. Head towards the waterfront by following the bike lanes. You can take the route along the Stadthafen (City Harbor), which is scenic and well-marked for cyclists. Once you reach the harbor area, look for signs pointing to the historic harbor crane (historischer Hafenkran). It is located just off the waterfront and is easily accessible by bike.
