Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Sellin, which is a popular town on Rugen Island. From Sellin, take the B196 road heading south. Follow the signs towards Vilm until you reach the designated parking area near the waterfront. Note that you cannot drive onto Insel Vilm itself, as it is a protected nature reserve. You will need to park your car and continue your journey by ferry.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus or regional train to Sellin. The nearest bus station in Sellin is located centrally, and the bus services are frequent. From the bus stop, walk towards the waterfront area where you can find the ferry terminal. Ferries depart regularly to Insel Vilm, and it is advisable to check the ferry schedule in advance. There is a small fee for the ferry ride, so keep some cash ready.

Once you arrive at the ferry terminal in Sellin, purchase your ticket for the ferry to Insel Vilm. The ferry ride offers picturesque views of the surrounding waters, and it takes approximately 20 minutes to reach the island.
