Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from any location in the Ruhr area. Use the A40 or A45 autobahn and follow the signs to Dortmund. Once you reach Dortmund, take the B1 exit towards Dortmund-Mitte. Follow B1 until you reach the exit for An d. Buschmühle. After exiting, continue straight to reach Westfalenpark, which will be on your left. There is a parking lot available nearby, but please note that parking fees may apply, typically around €2-€3 for a few hours.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transport, begin by locating the nearest U-Bahn or S-Bahn station in your area. Take any S-Bahn line heading towards Dortmund Hauptbahnhof (main station). From Dortmund Hauptbahnhof, transfer to U-Bahn line U45 (direction: Holzen) or U42 (direction: Hörde). Get off at the stop 'Westfalenpark.' The park is just a short walk from the station. A single ticket will typically cost around €3-€4, depending on your starting location.

  If you are already in central Dortmund, you can easily walk to Westfalenpark. From the city center, head east towards the B1 road. Continue along the road until you see signs for Westfalenpark. The walk takes approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on your exact starting point. This is a pleasant route, as you will pass through some lovely city streets.

• Taxi

  For a more direct and convenient option, consider taking a taxi. Taxis are available throughout the Ruhr area and can take you directly to Westfalenpark. The fare will depend on your starting location but expect to pay around €10-€20 from central Dortmund. It's a quick and easy way to reach the park without the hassle of public transport.
