If you are traveling by car, start from the city of Leipzig. Head northwest on the A14 motorway towards Magdeburg. After about 18 kilometers, take the exit 15-Grimma onto B107 towards Grimma. Continue on B107 for approximately 22 kilometers until you reach the town of Grimma. Once in Grimma, follow the local signs towards Sachsenstein-Säule. There is a parking area nearby where you can leave your car. Please note that parking may incur a small fee.
Public Transportation (Train + Bus)
For those using public transportation, start by taking a train from Dresden or Leipzig to Grimma. Trains frequently run from Leipzig Hauptbahnhof to Grimma Bahnhof. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Grimma Bahnhof, exit the station and look for bus line 162 towards 'Nerchau'. The bus ride will take around 15 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Sachsenstein', which is the closest stop to Sachsenstein-Säule. From there, it is a short walk (approximately 10-15 minutes) to the site. Ensure you check the bus schedule in advance, as they may vary.
Walking/Hiking
