Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Spessart. Take the B26 road heading towards Würzburg. Follow the signs for Würzburg, and merge onto the A3 motorway. After about 35 kilometers, take exit 66-Würzburg-Heidingsfeld and follow the signs for Würzburg. Continue on B19 towards the city center. Once you reach the city, follow the signs for Marienberg Fortress. There is a parking lot near the fortress where you can park your car. The address is Marienberg, 97012 Würzburg.
Public Transportation
To reach Marienberg Fortress by public transportation, you can take a regional train from Spessart to Würzburg Hbf (Main station). The train ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Würzburg Hbf, exit the station and take bus line 6 or 12 towards 'Würzburg, Marienberg'. The bus ride will take around 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Marienberg' stop, which is a short walk from the fortress entrance. Ensure you check the bus schedule in advance as they may vary.
Walking
If you're already in Würzburg and prefer walking, you can walk to Marienberg Fortress from the city center. Start at the Market Square (Marktplatz) and head towards the Main River. Cross the bridge (Alte Mainbrücke) and follow the path along the river. After about 2 kilometers, you will see signs directing you to the fortress. The walk is scenic and should take about 30-40 minutes. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the path includes some uphill sections.
