If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to Sonthofen, located in the Allgäu region of Swabia. From the A7 motorway, take the exit toward Sonthofen (Exit 139). Continue on the B19 road and follow signs for Sonthofen. Once you enter the city, follow Burgweg until you reach Burg Fluhenstein, located at Burgweg 43, 87527 Sonthofen. There is limited parking available near the castle.

Public Transportation
To reach Burg Fluhenstein via public transportation, take a train to Sonthofen. From major cities in Swabia like Augsburg or Ulm, you will find regional trains (RB or RE) that connect to Sonthofen. Once you arrive at the Sonthofen train station, exit the station and take bus line 1 or 2 towards 'Zentrum'. Get off at the 'Burgweg' stop, which is the closest stop to the castle. From there, you will have a short walk to Burg Fluhenstein located at Burgweg 43.

If you are already in Sonthofen and prefer walking, head towards the city center from your location. Follow signs to Burgweg and continue walking uphill towards the castle. The walk will take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on your starting point, and is a pleasant route through the scenic landscape.
