Getting There

Car
If you're driving from Erfurt, take the A4 highway towards Eisenach. After about 30 km, take exit 40 towards Bad Langensalza. From there, follow the signs to Bad Langensalza. Once in the city, head towards Marktkirche 9, where the Nationalpark-Verwaltung is located. The park entrance is close by, and parking is available. Expect to pay a parking fee of approximately €3 for the day.

Public Transportation
From Erfurt Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take an RE (Regional Express) train towards Nordhausen. Get off at Bad Langensalza station, which takes about 30 minutes. From Bad Langensalza station, you can either walk (approximately 15 minutes) or take bus line 203 towards 'Hainich Nationalpark' and get off at the stop 'Nationalpark'. Bus tickets cost around €2.50.

If you're coming from Weimar, drive to Erfurt and then follow the public transportation instructions provided above.
