    The Waldkugelbahn is located at the Großer Arbersee and is best accessed by car. From Bayerisch Eisenstein, follow Arberseestraße. Parking is available at the Großer Arbersee parking lot. Parking costs €4 for the day. Be sure to have Euros in cash or an EC card for payment at the machine.

  • Public Transport

    Take bus line 6085 from Bodenmais to the Großer Arbersee parking lot, which runs approximately hourly. Alternatively, bus line 590 from Furth im Wald or Lam via Lohberg also goes to the Arbersee. From Bayerisch Eisenstein, you can take bus line 6081 to the Arber Bergbahn, Talstation, which is a 15-minute ride. From there, it is a short walk to the Großer Arbersee. The Waldkugelbahn am Großen Arbersee, or forest marble run, is a unique attraction located directly on the shores of the Großer Arbersee (Great Arber Lake) in the Bavarian Forest. This 250-meter-long marble run is made entirely of wood and is integrated into the area's natural surroundings.Visitors can purchase wooden marbles for a small fee (€1) from a vending machine on site or bring their own to send down the track. The course features various small, lovingly designed elements that add to the fun as the marbles roll along. The track is easily accessible via well-maintained, mostly barrier-free paths around the Arbersee, offering scenic views of the Arberseewand (Arber Lake Wall).The Großer Arbersee itself is the most visited lake in the Bavarian Forest, surrounded by dense forest and the imposing Großer Arber mountain. In addition to the Waldkugelbahn, visitors can enjoy boat rides on the lake, explore the Arberseehaus (a restaurant with views of the lake), and hike the surrounding trails.
