Public Transport
From Garmisch-Partenkirchen train station, take bus line 2 (operated by Eibsee-Bus) towards the Alpspitzbahn valley station. The bus ride takes approximately 15 minutes. A single ticket costs around €2-3. Alternatively, a taxi from the train station to the Alpspitzbahn costs approximately €10-15.
Driving
From the center of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, follow signs for the B2 towards Innsbruck/Mittenwald. After a short distance, turn onto Alpspitzstraße, which leads directly to the Alpspitzbahn valley station. Parking is available at the valley station for a fee of approximately €5-10 per day, depending on the season. Limited free parking may be available further away, requiring a longer walk.
Cable Car
From the Alpspitzbahn valley station, purchase a round-trip ticket for the Alpspitzbahn cable car. As of May 2025, a Garmisch-Classic Ticket (including Alpspitzbahn) costs approximately €39 for adults. The cable car ride to the Osterfelderkopf takes about 9 minutes.
