Getting There

Walking
From the center of Grainau, follow the signs towards Hammersbach. The walk to Hammersbach is relatively flat and takes about 30-40 minutes. Once in Hammersbach, continue following signs for the Höllentalklamm (Hell Valley Gorge). The Mariensprung Waterfall is located along the trail to the gorge, approximately 15-20 minutes further from Hammersbach. The path is well-marked and easy to follow. Note that parking in Hammersbach at P2 costs €5 for half a day and €8 for the entire day.

Public Transport
Take the Eibsee-Bus to the Hammersbach bus stop. Alternatively, the cogwheel train (Zugspitzbahn) also stops in Hammersbach. From the Hammersbach bus stop or train station, follow the signs towards Höllentalklamm. The Mariensprung Waterfall is located along this trail, about a 15-20 minute walk from the bus stop/train station. A single bus fare from Grainau to Hammersbach is approximately €3. The cogwheel train is free until Grainau if you have a Bayern ticket, otherwise it costs around €6-€9.
