Getting There

  • Car

    From any location in Ahafo Region, head south on the main road, following signs towards Kumasi. After approximately 1.5 hours, you will reach the junction that leads to the Cape Coast via the N1 highway. Continue on the N1 for about 2 hours until you see signs for Cape Coast. Once in Cape Coast, follow Victoria Rd until you reach Cape Coast Castle. Parking is available nearby, but there may be a small fee for parking.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    Locate a nearby bus terminal in Ahafo Region and take a bus heading to Cape Coast. The journey may take approximately 3 to 4 hours depending on traffic. Upon arrival at the Cape Coast bus station, you will need to take a taxi or a shared taxi (trotro) to Victoria Rd. The fare for the taxi should be around 5-10 GHS. Once you arrive at Victoria Rd, you can easily walk to Cape Coast Castle.

  • Shared Taxi (Trotro)

    If you prefer a shared taxi (trotro), find where trotros to Cape Coast depart in your area. This option is usually cheaper but may take longer due to multiple stops. After reaching Cape Coast, disembark at the main station and take a local taxi or walk along Victoria Rd to get to Cape Coast Castle.
