Car
Starting from any point in Brong-Ahafo, head towards the N10 (or the main road leading to Accra). Follow the N10 south until you reach the junction at Techiman. Continue on the N10, which will merge into the N1 highway. Stay on the N1, passing through towns such as Berekum and Sunyani. Keep following the signs for Accra. Once you approach Accra, follow the signs toward Achimota. Look for Achimota College Road; the forest is located near the Achimota College area. Parking may be available near the entrance, but be aware of any fees that may apply.
Public Transportation
From Brong-Ahafo, you will need to take a bus or shared taxi heading to Accra. Buses leave from various terminals in Sunyani or Techiman. Look for buses going to 'Accra' or 'Circle' (Kwame Nkrumah Circle). The journey will take approximately 2-3 hours. Upon arrival at the main bus terminal in Accra, you can take a taxi or a local trotro (minibus) to Achimota. If you take a taxi, simply tell the driver 'Achimota Forest' or 'Achimota College Road.' If you choose a trotro, look for one heading towards Achimota; the fare is usually around GHS 2-5. Expect additional costs for the bus fare, which could range from GHS 20-40, depending on the bus company.
Combination of Public Transport and Walking
After reaching Accra by bus or shared taxi as described above, you can use the local transport system to get closer to Achimota Forest. From the bus station, take a taxi or trotro to Achimota. When you get to the Achimota area, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the forest entrance. It is advisable to ask locals for directions if you are unsure. Walking from the trotro station in Achimota to the forest should take around 10-15 minutes.
