Private Car
If you're driving from Ga-Adangbe to Cape Coast Castle, start by heading west on the main road (N1). Follow the signs towards Cape Coast. You'll travel approximately 30 kilometers. As you approach Cape Coast, look for the signs directing you to the castle. Once you reach Victoria Road, you will see Cape Coast Castle on your left. There is usually parking available near the castle, but be prepared to pay a small fee for parking.
Public Bus
To reach Cape Coast Castle by public bus, head to the nearest bus station in Ga-Adangbe. Look for a bus heading to Cape Coast. The journey typically takes around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Cape Coast bus station, exit and walk towards Victoria Road. Follow Victoria Road for about 10-15 minutes, and you will arrive at Cape Coast Castle. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as they can vary throughout the day.
Shared Taxi
For a more direct option, consider taking a shared taxi from Ga-Adangbe to Cape Coast. Find a taxi stand or ask locals for where to catch a shared taxi. The shared taxi will take you directly to Cape Coast and may be slightly faster than a bus. The fare usually ranges from 10 to 15 GHS per person. Once you arrive in Cape Coast, ask the driver to drop you off near Victoria Road, where you can easily walk to Cape Coast Castle.
Walking from Cape Coast Bus Station
If you arrive at the Cape Coast bus station, you can also choose to walk to Cape Coast Castle. From the bus station, head southwest towards Victoria Road. It’s a pleasant walk of about 1 kilometer, taking approximately 15-20 minutes. Keep an eye out for signs directing you towards the castle as you walk along Victoria Road.
