If you are traveling by car from Gonjaland, start by heading south towards the main road (N13). Follow the N13 for approximately 220 kilometers until you reach the junction for Elmina. Turn right onto the Cape Coast-Accra Road (N1) and continue for about 12 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Elmina. Once in the town, follow the signs to Elmina Castle located at 3MM2+4R3.
Public Transportation
To reach Elmina Castle via public transportation, take a shared taxi or bus from any major town in Gonjaland to Kumasi. From Kumasi, you can catch a long-distance bus to Cape Coast. Once you arrive in Cape Coast, look for a local taxi or shared ride heading to Elmina. The taxi ride will take around 15-20 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to go to Elmina Castle at 3MM2+4R3.
Walking
If you are already in Elmina town, you can walk to Elmina Castle. From the main road, head towards the beach and follow the coastal path. Elmina Castle will be visible as you approach. It’s approximately a 15-minute walk from the nearest bus stop.
