Getting There

  • Car

    From Kokrobite, head east on the main road towards Accra. Continue straight until you reach the intersection at the Mallam Junction. Take a left turn towards the N1 highway. Follow the N1 highway for about 30 kilometers until you see signs for Shai Hills Resource Reserve. Take the exit and follow the signs leading to the reserve. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on traffic. Make sure to have cash for the entrance fee, which is around GHS 5 per person.

    From Kokrobite, walk to the nearest trotro (shared minibus) station. Board a trotro heading towards Accra and ask the driver to drop you off at the Mallam Junction. From there, you will need to catch another trotro heading towards Shai Hills or a taxi. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they will drop you near the reserve. The total cost for the trip may range from GHS 10 to GHS 15, and the entire journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on connections and traffic.
