Car
If you are traveling by car from Krachi to Mole National Park, start by heading northwest on the main road from Krachi towards Tamale. The distance is approximately 220 kilometers. Follow the road signs towards Damongo, which is the nearest town to Mole National Park. As you approach Damongo, look for signs indicating the direction to Mole National Park. From Damongo, take the road leading directly to the park entrance. The journey may take around 4-5 hours, depending on road conditions and traffic.
Public Transportation (Tro-Tro)
For those using public transportation, you can board a tro-tro (shared minibus) from Krachi to Tamale at the local tro-tro station. The fare is typically around 15-20 GHS ($2-3). Once in Tamale, you will need to transfer to another tro-tro heading to Damongo, which should cost another 10-15 GHS ($1-2). Upon reaching Damongo, you can either take a taxi (approximately 30 GHS or $5) or join a local shuttle to Mole National Park. This entire journey may take around 6-8 hours depending on waiting times and the schedule of the tro-tros.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, hiring a taxi from Krachi to Mole National Park is an option. This will be significantly more expensive, with costs ranging from 300 to 500 GHS ($50-85), depending on negotiation and the taxi service. The taxi will take you directly to the park entrance, making the journey more comfortable and quicker, approximately 4-5 hours depending on speed and road conditions.
