Car
If you are driving, start your journey from any major town around Lake Volta, such as Akosombo. Head towards the town of Amedzofe. Follow the main road leading to Amedzofe, which is about a 30-minute drive from Akosombo. Once you arrive in Amedzofe, look for signs pointing to Akome Waterfall. The waterfall is located approximately 3 kilometers from the Amedzofe town center. You may need to park your car at a safe location and walk the remaining distance.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a trotro (shared minibus) from Akosombo to Amedzofe. The journey may take around 1 hour, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Amedzofe, you can either walk to the waterfall (approximately 3 kilometers) or hire a local motorbike taxi (okada) to take you directly to the waterfall site. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around 5-10 GHS.
Walking
If you are already in Amedzofe and prefer walking, head south from the town center along the main path leading towards the hills. Follow the trail signs to Akome Waterfall. The trek is about 3 kilometers and may take around 30-45 minutes, depending on your pace. Be prepared for some uneven terrain and wear suitable footwear.
