If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Tamale, the capital of the Northern Region. Head south on the Tamale-Bolgatanga Road (N10) for approximately 200 km, which will take about 3 hours. When you reach the junction at Techiman, turn left onto the N12 towards Kumasi. Continue for about 80 km until you reach the town of Elmina. As you approach Elmina, follow the signs to the town center. Elmina Castle is located at 3MM2+4R3, right by the coast. Look for parking areas available near the castle.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Tamale to Accra. Look for buses that specifically stop in Elmina; these can be found at the Tamale Central Bus Station. The bus journey will take approximately 7 to 8 hours, and tickets usually cost around 40-60 GHS. Once you arrive at Elmina, you can walk to the castle, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus terminal. Alternatively, you can hire a local taxi for a short ride to Elmina Castle.
