Car
If you are driving from Nzema, head east on the main road (N1) towards Takoradi. Continue on this road for approximately 45 kilometers until you reach the junction for Elmina. Take a left turn at the junction and follow the signs to Elmina. The castle is approximately 10 kilometers from the junction. Look for the signs indicating Elmina Castle, and upon entering the town, you will need to navigate through the local streets. The castle is located at 3MM2+4R3, Elmina, and you should find parking available nearby.
Public Transportation
To reach Elmina Castle by public transport, start by taking a shared taxi or a bus from Nzema to Takoradi. The fare is usually around 3-5 GHS. Once in Takoradi, switch to a bus heading to Elmina. This bus ride will cost you about 2-3 GHS and takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Elmina, you can either walk to the castle, which is about 15 minutes away, or take a local taxi for a small fee (around 5 GHS). The castle is located at 3MM2+4R3, Elmina.
