If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Dambai, the capital of the Oti Region. Head southwest on the Dambai to Nkwanta road (Nkwanta-Dambai Road). Continue for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach Nkwanta. From Nkwanta, head towards the Abotoase road and follow the signs to Abandze. After about 30 kilometers, you will arrive in Abandze. Fort Amsterdam is located at 5WR4+XQF, Kormantin, just off the main road. Look for signage directing you towards the fort.

To reach Fort Amsterdam using public transportation, start at the main bus station in Dambai. Look for a trotro (shared taxi) heading towards Nkwanta. The fare is typically around GHS 5-10. Once you arrive in Nkwanta, you will need to find another trotro or shared taxi heading towards Abandze. This leg of the journey may cost an additional GHS 5-10. Inform the driver that you wish to visit Fort Amsterdam, and they will drop you off at the closest point. From there, it’s a short walk to the fort, located at 5WR4+XQF, Kormantin.
