    From the center of Sekondi-Takoradi, begin at the Sekondi-Takoradi Railway Station. Head south on Railway Road, which will take you directly into the main street of Sekondi. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with the Cape Coast Highway (N1). Turn left onto the highway and continue on the pedestrian path. After approximately 4 kilometers, you will see signs directing you toward Elmina. Follow these signs for another 2 kilometers, keeping to the pedestrian paths. You will reach Elmina Castle, which is located at 3MM2+4R3, Elmina.

  • Public Transport (Trotro)

    From the central bus station in Takoradi, take a 'Trotro' heading towards Cape Coast. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Elmina. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Elmina, exit the Trotro and ask locals for directions to Elmina Castle. It is a short 10-minute walk from the Trotro drop-off point. Follow the signs toward the coastal area, and you will see the castle.

  • Bicycle Rental

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Sekondi-Takoradi. Start your journey from the central area and head towards the Cape Coast Highway (N1). Cycle south along the highway for approximately 6 kilometers. Signs for Elmina will start to appear. As you approach Elmina, take the road leading to the coast, and you'll find Elmina Castle at 3MM2+4R3. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow local traffic rules while cycling.
