From Tamale, head to the Tamale Central Bus Station. Look for a bus heading to Accra or Ada. Make sure to confirm with the bus driver or ticket seller that the bus stops at Ada. The journey to Ada will take several hours. Upon arrival at the Ada bus terminal, you can take a local taxi or a shared trotro to Ada Foah. The fare for the trotro or taxi to Ada Foah should be negotiated in advance, and it is about a 15-20 minute ride from the Ada terminal to the Volta Estuary.

Alternatively, at the Tamale Central Bus Station, you can find shared taxis that travel to Accra or Ada. It’s advisable to ask the driver if they can drop you off directly at Ada Foah. If they cannot, you will need to be dropped off at the Ada bus terminal and take a local taxi or trotro to your destination. Make sure to clarify the price and ensure it includes your drop-off at Ada Foah.

For a more adventurous route, you can also look for a motorbike taxi (commonly referred to as 'Okada') in Tamale.
