Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Ho, the capital of the Volta Region. Head north on the main road (N1) towards Afadjato. After about 30 minutes of driving, take a right turn onto the road leading to the village of Liati Wote. Follow the signs towards Mountain Afadjato. The journey from Ho should take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic and road conditions. You will arrive at the base of the mountain where you can park your vehicle.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a shared taxi or a bus from Ho to Liati Wote. Head to the main bus station in Ho and look for vehicles heading towards Afadjato or Liati Wote. The fare is typically around GHS 5-10. Once you reach Liati Wote, you may need to hire a local guide or a motorcycle taxi to take you to the base of Mountain Afadjato. This last leg of the journey may cost an additional GHS 20-30.
Walking
Once you have reached the base of Mountain Afadjato, the actual hike begins. It is recommended to hire a local guide if you are unfamiliar with the area. The hike itself is about 30-45 minutes to the summit, depending on your pace. Ensure you wear comfortable hiking shoes and carry water, as the trail can be steep and challenging.
