Getting There

    From any location in the Volta Region, you can drive to the Songor Lagoon Protected Area. If you are starting from Ho, take the N1 highway towards Accra. After approximately 45 minutes, take the exit towards Keta. Continue on the road towards Keta for about 30 minutes until you reach Ayonukope. Once you are in Ayonukope, follow the signs to Songor Lagoon. There are no tolls on this route, but ensure your fuel tank is full as there are limited fuel stations in this area.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Songor Lagoon by public transport, first, you need to get to Keta from any major town in the Volta Region. You can find shared taxis or tro-tros that operate from towns like Ho or Aflao to Keta. Once you arrive in Keta, you can take a local taxi or motorbike taxi (okada) to Ayonukope.
