Getting There

  • Car

    From any location in the Volta Region, head towards the main road leading to Accra. If you're coming from Ho, take the N1 highway heading west. Follow the signs for the N1 until you reach the junction with the Tema-Accra motorway. Take the exit towards Tema, and continue on the motorway. After about 35 km, take the exit towards Shai Hills Resource Reserve. The reserve is located approximately 5 km from the exit. Look for signs indicating the entrance to the reserve. Make sure to pay the entrance fee at the gate, which is typically around GH¢5 per person.

  • Public Transportation

    From the central market in Ho, take a shared taxi or a trotro heading towards Accra. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to stop at Shai Hills. The fare is approximately GH¢15. Upon reaching the Shai Hills junction, you will need to take a motorbike taxi (okada) or walk the remaining 5 km to the reserve. The motorbike taxi fare should be around GH¢5.
