Getting There
-
Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Sekondi-Takoradi, the largest city in the Western Region. Drive east on the Takoradi-Bogoso Road (N1) for approximately 30 kilometers. Continue on this road until you reach the junction at Bogoso. From there, take the road towards Wassa Akropong. Drive for another 15 kilometers. As you approach the Wassa Akropong area, look for signs directing you to Tagbo Falls. The falls are located about 5 kilometers from the main road, and you may need to drive on a dirt track. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for such terrain, or consider parking at a nearby village and walking the remaining distance.
-
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start at the Takoradi station and take a trotro (shared minibus) heading towards Bogoso. The fare is typically around 5 GHS. Upon reaching Bogoso, you can take another trotro to Wassa Akropong, which may cost you another 3 GHS. Once in Wassa Akropong, ask the locals for a ride to Tagbo Falls; you might need to hire a motorbike or tricycle (known locally as an 'aboboya') for about 10 GHS to cover the last 5 kilometers, as public transport may not go directly there.
-
Hiking/Walking
If you are adventurous and enjoy hiking, consider walking to Tagbo Falls from Wassa Akropong along the marked trails. Ensure to wear appropriate footwear and carry enough water and snacks, as the hike can take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. The path is scenic but can be steep in places, so be prepared for a bit of a workout. While walking, enjoy the local flora and fauna along the way.
