    Nelson's Anchorage, situated at the historically significant Rosia Bay, commemorates the arrival of Admiral Lord Nelson's body following his victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. According to local lore, his body was preserved in a barrel of alcohol during the journey. The site is home to the Napier of Magdala Battery, which features a 100-Ton Gun, one of only two remaining in the world.The 100-Ton Gun, manufactured in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1870, was nicknamed 'The Rockbuster'. It was strategically positioned to protect the entrances to both the commercial harbor and the Royal Naval Dockyard in Rosia Bay. The battery was constructed between 1878 and 1884 on the site of the old Rosia Batteries. Although the gun was tested, it was never fired in anger.Visitors to Nelson's Anchorage can explore the historical area, enjoy the waterfront views, and learn about Gibraltar's maritime past.
