Getting There

  • Cable Car

    The most convenient way to reach the Skywalk is via the Gibraltar Cable Car. The Cable Car base station is located near the Alameda Botanical Gardens. From the top station, it's a short, downhill walk to the Skywalk. A return ticket on the Cable Car costs approximately £19 for adults. A Nature Reserve ticket, which includes access to the Skywalk, is required and can be purchased at the Cable Car base station or online. Consider purchasing a combination ticket for the Cable Car and Nature Reserve.

  • Public Transport

    Several bus routes connect the Gibraltar city center and the land frontier to the Cable Car. Bus routes 4 and 9 stop at Alameda House, right outside the Cable Car base station. Routes 2, 3, and 7 stop at Elliott's Way, a short walk from the Cable Car. A single bus fare costs around £2.20. From the Cable Car top station, follow the signs for a short walk to the Skywalk. Note that a Nature Reserve ticket is required to access the Skywalk.

  • Walking

    For those who enjoy hiking, it's possible to walk to the Skywalk from the entrance to the Upper Rock Nature Reserve. From the Nature Reserve entrance, follow the marked trails uphill for approximately 20 minutes to reach the Skywalk. Be prepared for a steep climb and wear comfortable shoes. A Nature Reserve ticket, which includes access to the Skywalk, is required and can be purchased at the entrance.

Informative panels detail the geology, flora, fauna, and history of the Rock. The Skywalk is constructed to withstand winds of over 150 km/hour and can support the weight of 340 people. The glass floor is made of four layers of laminated glass, offering a thrilling perspective directly down to the rocky cliffs below. The Skywalk is part of the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, which also includes attractions like St. Michael's Cave and the famous Barbary macaques. The Skywalk was built upon the foundations of a former WWII military base. Mark Hamill, known as Luke Skywalker, inaugurated the Skywalk in March 2018.
