Car
If you are driving, start from any point in Gibraltar Harbour and head south towards the South District. Follow the signs towards the A302 road. Continue on this road until you reach the junction near the entrance to the Gibraltar Nature Reserve. Take a left turn at the junction onto the road leading to the Nature Reserve. Keep following this road until you reach the parking area near the entrance to the reserve. From the parking area, it’s a short walk uphill to Devil’s Tongue Battery, which is located a bit further inside the reserve.
Public Transportation
Using public transport, head to the main bus station in Gibraltar Harbour. Take bus number 4, which goes towards the South District and the Nature Reserve. The bus will take you directly to the stop closest to the entrance of the Gibraltar Nature Reserve. Once you get off the bus, follow the path from the bus stop towards the entrance of the reserve. It is a short walk uphill from there to reach Devil’s Tongue Battery.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, start from the waterfront of Gibraltar Harbour and head towards the main road, Waterport Road, which is located to the north of the harbour. Follow Waterport Road south until you reach the junction with A302. Cross the road and continue south until you reach the entrance to the Gibraltar Nature Reserve. The hike to Devil’s Tongue Battery is a bit steep, so be prepared for some uphill walking.
