    Getting There

    Walking

    From Casemates Square in the city center, walk south along Main Street. Continue past the Grand Parade car park and follow Europa Road, bearing in mind the signs for the Upper Rock Nature Reserve. Turn onto Engineer Road and proceed until you reach the Pillars of Hercules, where you can purchase your Nature Reserve ticket. The entrance to the Mediterranean Steps is located near Jew's Gate. The Nature Reserve ticket costs £19 for adults.

    Public Transport

    Take bus number 2 from Market Square to the Garrison Gymnasium bus stop on Europa Road. From there, walk up Windmill Hill Road for approximately 10 minutes to reach the Pillars of Hercules and the entrance to the Mediterranean Steps. A single bus fare costs around £2.20.

    Wear comfortable hiking shoes with good grip due to the rocky and uneven terrain.
