Discover more about Skywalk Gibraltar

Perched atop the iconic Rock of Gibraltar, the Skywalk delivers a heart-stopping experience. This state-of-the-art glass platform extends from the cliff, offering 360-degree panoramic views spanning three countries and two continents on a clear day. Inaugurated in 2018 by Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), the Skywalk quickly became one of Gibraltar's most popular attractions. Standing 340 meters (1,115 feet) above sea level, higher than the tallest point of London's The Shard, the Skywalk provides an unparalleled perspective. The glass-bottomed platform gives visitors the sensation of floating above the landscape, with a direct view of the rocky cliffs below. Informative panels detail the geology, flora, fauna, and historical significance of the Rock. Built on the foundations of a former WWII base, the Skywalk is engineered to withstand wind speeds over 150km/hour and can hold the weight of 5 Asian elephants or 340 people. The structure is secured to the Rock with 70 meters of rock anchors and 30,000kg of steel. The glass panels are made of four layers of tempered glass, each capable of supporting 600kg. Besides the Skywalk, visitors can explore other attractions within the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, including St. Michael's Cave, the Windsor Suspension Bridge, and the Apes' Den, home to the famous Barbary macaques.
