From Casemates Square in the city center, walk south along Main Street. Continue onto Europa Road, following signs for the Upper Rock Nature Reserve. Turn onto Engineer Road and proceed to the Pillars of Hercules, where you'll find the entrance to the Mediterranean Steps opposite the ticket office. The walk from Casemates Square takes approximately 40 minutes. Note that access to the Mediterranean Steps requires a ticket to the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, costing £19 for adults.
