Getting There

  • Walking

    From the city center, the Moorish Castle is accessible by foot, though the route involves an uphill walk. Starting from Casemates Square, proceed north towards the Landport Gate, the traditional entrance to the fortress. Continue along Willis's Road, following signs for the Upper Rock Nature Reserve. The castle is located at the northern end of the reserve. Note that the walk is steep in places.

From the city center, take Route 1 to the Willis's Road Terminus, the last stop in the upper town, which is the closest bus stop to the Moorish Castle.
