Getting There

  From the city center, the Moorish Castle is accessible on foot, though the walk involves a significant uphill climb. Start from Casemates Square and follow Main Street north. Continue onto Willis's Road, which leads directly to the Moorish Castle Estate. The walk takes approximately 20-30 minutes, offering scenic views along the way.

• Public Transport

  The Gibraltar Bus Company operates several routes that stop near the Moorish Castle. Take Route 1 and disembark at the Willis's Road Terminus, the last stop in the upper town, which is the closest bus stop to the Moorish Castle. From there, it is a short walk to the castle entrance. A single bus fare costs £1.80, and a return ticket is £2.50. A Hopper ticket for unlimited daily travel is available for £6.00.

• Taxi

  Taxis are readily available throughout Gibraltar. A taxi from the city center to the Moorish Castle costs approximately £13.60. Taxis can be found at the airport terminal, the border crossing, and the main taxi rank in Grand Casemates Square. Be aware that taxis may charge extra for additional passengers and luggage.

• Driving

  If driving, navigate to the Gibraltar Nature Reserve. Follow signs toward the Moorish Castle, located at 5 Moorish Castle Estate, Gibraltar GX11 1AA. Note that private vehicles, except for Blue Badge holders, cannot be driven within the Upper Rock Nature Reserve. Limited parking is available near the castle. Parking at 2 Queensway Rd offers a convenient starting point, with walking access to the castle. Parking options in La Linea, just across the border in Spain, are also available.
