Charakas Beach: A Serene Escape in Keratea

Getting There

• Metro

  From central Athens, head to the nearest metro station, either Syntagma or Monastiraki. Take Line 3 (the blue line) towards Doukissis Plakentias. Alight at the last stop, which is Doukissis Plakentias. From there, transfer to the KTEL bus service that goes to Keratea. Board the bus that has 'Keratea' displayed on the front. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Keratea bus terminal, you can walk or take a local taxi to Charakas Beach.

• Bus

  You can also take a direct KTEL bus from the Kifissos Bus Station in Athens to Keratea. First, make your way to the Kifissos Bus Station. You can take the metro (Line 1 to Larissa Station, and then a short taxi to Kifissos) or a local bus to reach there. Purchase a ticket to Keratea from the ticket counter. The bus ride will take about an hour. Once you arrive in Keratea, walk or take a local taxi to Charakas Beach, which is about 10 minutes away from the bus station.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Athens to Charakas Beach. Simply ask the driver to take you to 'Charakas Beach, Keratea 190 01'. The journey will take approximately 40-60 minutes depending on the traffic. This option is more expensive but provides a comfortable and direct route to the beach.
