Getting There

• Ferry

  From central Athens, head to the port of Piraeus. You can take the metro Line 1 (Green Line) from Monastiraki or Omonia station to Piraeus station. Once you arrive at Piraeus, follow the signs to the ferry terminal. Look for the ferry companies operating to Aegina Island, such as Aegean Flying Dolphins or Hellenic Seaways. Purchase a ticket for Aegina. The ferry ride takes about 40 minutes to 1 hour depending on the type of ferry. Once you arrive at Aegina port, you will see the island’s charming waterfront.

• Bus

  After arriving at Aegina port, exit the ferry terminal and look for the bus station located nearby. There are buses that run to Moni Eginas Beach. The bus to the beach may be labeled for Agia Marina or Moni Eginas. Ensure you check the bus schedule, as they may not run frequently. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. After getting off the bus, follow the signs to Moni Eginas Beach, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

• Taxi or Water Taxi

  Alternatively, after arriving at Aegina port, you can choose to take a taxi or a water taxi directly to Moni Eginas Beach. Taxis are available at the port, and you can negotiate the fare before getting in. A water taxi can also take you to the beach directly, which is a scenic and enjoyable option. This is typically a quicker way and allows you to enjoy the coastal views.
