Getting There

• Bus

  From the center of Chania, head to the KTEL bus station located on Kydonias Street. Take the bus heading towards 'Akrotiri' or 'Gouverneto Monastery'. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Request the driver to stop at the closest point to Gouverneto Monastery. From the bus stop, it is a short 10-minute walk to the monastery. Follow the signs towards the monastery, and enjoy the scenic views along the way.

  If you are near the Old Town of Chania, you can walk to Gouverneto Monastery. Start at the Venetian Harbor and head northeast towards the main road. Continue on the road towards Akrotiri, and after about 4 kilometers, you will see signs for Gouverneto Monastery. This walk takes about an hour, so wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.

• Taxi

  For a more convenient option, consider taking a taxi from your location in Chania directly to Gouverneto Monastery. You can easily find taxis around the Old Town or request one through your hotel. The drive will take approximately 20 minutes, and it’s a straightforward route. Make sure to confirm the location with the driver.

  If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bike in Chania and cycle to Gouverneto Monastery. Head towards the Akrotiri peninsula, following the coastal road for a beautiful ride. The distance is about 5 kilometers and should take around 20-30 minutes, depending on your pace. There are bike rental shops in the Old Town.
