Walking
The Chania Back Alleys are easily explored on foot. If starting from the Venetian Harbour, head towards the narrow street of Portou, away from the water. Continue straight along Portou Street; the back alleys are directly along this street, around Portou 70. The walk from the harbor takes approximately 5-10 minutes.
Public Transport
If arriving by bus at the Chania bus station, walk towards the Old Port area. Follow the waterfront promenade (Aktis 1866) until the end of the harbor, then continue straight onto Portou Street. The Chania Back Alleys are near Portou 70. A single bus ticket within Chania costs approximately €1.20-€2.50.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Chania. Request a ride to 'Portou 70, Chania 731 31'. The taxi will drop you off directly at the entrance to the Chania Back Alleys. A short taxi ride within Chania Old Town typically costs between €5-€10.
