Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Gouvia, head northwest on the main road (Epar.Od. Kourouklata - Gouvias) towards the beach. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the crossroads. At the crossroads, turn left onto Epar.Od. Kassiopis - Sidariou (the road will be slightly uphill). Walk for approximately 500 meters until you see the sign for the Old Fortress on your right. The Corfu Byzantine Collection is located inside the Old Fortress. The entrance to the fortress is free, but there may be a small fee for entry to the museum.

  • Bus

    From Gouvia, take the local bus towards Corfu Town. Buses are frequent, running every 30 minutes. The bus stop in Gouvia is near the main square. Purchase your ticket from the driver (costs around €2). The journey takes about 20 minutes. Get off at the 'Liston' stop in Corfu Town. From there, walk towards the Old Fortress, which is about a 15-minute walk. Follow the signs to the fortress, and once you reach the entrance, the Corfu Byzantine Collection is located inside.
